Our partners at Glimp calculate the power estimates by:
Identifying what electricity network reporting region a property exists within
Determining the load profile for that network reporting region. (A load profile is essentially the percentage of consumption per month across a 12 month period.)
Determining the average electricity consumption within each network reporting region
Based on the modelled usage and the electricity rates supplied by our partners, we calculate each estimated monthly cost. This includes the fixed daily costs and the monthly consumption from steps 2 and 3.
The final power costs are scaled by the size of the property within each network reporting region. I.e. larger homes are likely to require more electricity than smaller properties.
The values displayed within the Home Expense Estimates are only estimates and will be highly dependent on usage behaviour.
