I have a property appraisal (CMA) from a real estate agent or a full market valuation from a valuer

Learn how to update the HomesEstimate for your property by submitting a recently completed registered valuation report or asking a licensed real estate agent to share the property appraisal. This article explains the process and benefits of providing this information for a more accurate estimate.


If you have a CMA (or property appraisal) from a Licensed Real Estate Agent, please contact the agent and ask them to update the HomesEstimate for you!

Your agent will be able to log into their Homes account and submit the information to your properties estimate calculations, they need your permission before they can share the appraisal range.

Once the agent has entered the appraisal range your properties estimate will re-calculate within the following 24 hours

Homes.co.nz allows the homeowner to update their property estimate with a recently completed registered valuation report for their property.

If you have received a formal valuation report from a registered valuer you can help us improve the accuracy of your HomesEstimate, by uploading the report to your properties estimate calculations, if the report meets the specified requirements the estimate will update within 3 - 4 working days

The registered valuation report MUST

  1. Have a current market value (Valuation date) that is within the last 90 days and
  2. Be signed by a registered Valuer
  3. Our system cannot accept construction valuations as the value assessed by the valuer is an 'as if complete' value that based on the proposed build already being completed

To update your HomesEstimate using a formal valuation report:

  1. Login to your account or create an account

  2. Search for your property on homes.co.nz

  3. Click on "Update this HomesEstimate" link, located under the HomesEstimate on the property page

  4. Enter the required details in the form

  5. Attach a full copy of the formal valuation report prepared by the Registered Valuer.

  6. Submit the form

  7. The HomesEstimate request will be reviewed by our team within 3 - 4 working days.
