How do I claim or unclaim a sale?

How do I claim or unclaim a sale?

Real Estate Agents that have an active Premium Agent profile on homes.co.nz have the ability to associate themselves with a historical sales record on a property. This process is referred to as "Claiming a sale".

When an agent has claimed a sale and it is not yet connected to a sale record from the council it will be flagged on a properties timeline as an “ASR” (Agent Sale Record).

Automatic Claiming
For most Premium Agents this process will happen automatically when your listing is withdrawn from Trade Me.

Manually Claiming
You can also manually claim your sales in our Agent Portal. To do this please use the following steps:

  1. Go to the Agent Portal
  2. Login to your account using your agent credentials
  3. Navigate to Claim Sales
  4. Enter the property address
  5. If the search does not return a direct match you may need to click Show street and then find the address you are looking for.
  6. Once you have found the address click Show history
    1. If we have a sale record from the council it will be visible. To claim this sale click the blue button Claim the sale. A dialog box will appear where you need to:
      1. Select if you were the Selling Agent or Listing Agent. If you were both please select both.
      2. If you sold the property for a different agency than your current one please type the name of the agency into the search box and pick one of the suggestions.
      3. Click Claim this sale to finish.
    2. If we don’t have a sale record from the council it will not be visible. In this instance you can get attribution for your sale on homes.co.nz by creating a sale. To do this click the green button Create a Sale. A dialog box will appear where you need to:
      1. Enter a Sale Date (This could be either the unconditional or settlement date)
      2. Enter a Sale Price. By default this will be hidden to the public and $TBC will be displayed. If you wish to make the price visible on homes.co.nz please select Display Sale Price.
      3. Select if you were the Selling Agent or Listing Agent. If you were both please select both.
      4. If you sold the property for a different agency than your current one please type the name of the agency into the search box and pick one of the suggestions.
      5. Click Create sale to finish.
